Bad Movie Review: Baby Driver

My Official Rating (out of 5): 💩💩💩💩

Don’t get me wrong — I like Ansel Elgort just as much as the next guy (or girl, more likely). But this movie did not impress. In fact, the best part about this movie is that it’s Kevin Spacey’s last big film (Cue: political correct air siren).

The only good part about Baby Driver, a high-intensity car chase movie, is the actual driving and the car chases. But, regardless of how excellent the car chase action may be, it’s not enough to propel this movie into any rating category above, “meh.” At least Need For Speed gave us a decent plot and didn’t include some exiled nerd who, by the end of the movie, is almost unbearable.

Ansel Elgort plays a socially awkward kid that does nothing besides listen to music and drive cars for the team of bank robbers that he, by some crazy stretch of a plot point, has gotten himself associated with.

If you’re thinking about turning this flick on, I would reconsider.
