My Official Rating (out of 5): 💩💩💩

“Ryan, you should really check out the movie, Burn After Reading, on Netflix,” said my FORMER friend, Tyler. Emphasis on the “former.”
But wait — George Clooney, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich, and Brad Pitt?? This cast is way too impressive for this movie to be anything less than a banger. Like yourself, these were my initial thoughts. They were wrong. Absolutely, undeniably, wrong. Burn After Reading, a Cohen brother production, is the type of movie that you watch if you want to have no idea what is going on the entire time. In fact, I wasn’t even sure if what was being shown to me on screen was one comprehensive movie or a series of completely unrelated short-films.
The plot is severely convoluted, but not in a good way. Not the type of convoluted plot that poses an intellectual challenge and leads to any sort of gratification. No. This is the type of convoluted that will leave you upset you wasted nearly two hours of your life on the film.
Brad Pitt plays the only role that is mildly likable.

And Frances McDormand is the most unlikable.
